Increase Resolution (Windows Only)

Before (Zoomed in X4)
After (Increased Resolution X4)
Photoshop (Upscaled X4 Bicubic)

The purpose of the Increase Resolution filter is to upscale an image in such a manner that the image is as clear and sharp as possible.

The most common use of this filter is to remove the jagged edges from images that are of a low resolution and need to be enlarged.

Although the Increase Resolution filter runs a lot slower than upscaling in Photoshop, it produces a much clearer output (as shown above).

The “Increase Resolution” filter can either increase the size of the image by a factor of two or four.
