Increase Resolution (Windows Only)

If you are not sure whether the image is low resolution or genuinely blurred, start with the guide to identifying and fixing blurry photos.

The purpose of the Increase Resolution filter is to upscale an image in such a manner that the image is as clear and sharp as possible.

The most common use of this filter is to remove the jagged edges from images that are of a low resolution and need to be enlarged.

Although the Increase Resolution filter runs a lot slower than upscaling in Photoshop, it produces a much clearer output, as shown above.

The “Increase Resolution” filter can increase the size of the image by a factor of either two or four.
